Richard’s impressive track record in affordable housing and residential development makes him the ideal choice for Rentplus Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He came on board in September 2014, after more than 30 years adding value for residents, communities and enterprise alike.
His career has seen him leading a development programme of 3,500 new homes for rent, shared equity and market sale as Group Development Director for Devon and Cornwall Housing and masterminding the organic growth of Signpost Housing (now Spectrum Housing Group) from its arrival into the Devon market through to becoming pre-eminent regional force.
Richard has held senior development roles at New Islington and Hackney Housing Association (now Family Mosaic), the former Housing Corporation and The Guinness Trust in London. Perpetually energetic and engaged, a great interest in community regeneration, growth and sustainability has led to him making major contributions in board roles with the East End Community Partnership and Devonport Community Land Trust in Plymouth. Until leaving the housing association sector, he was Chairman of the Cornwall Housing Partnership, whose members include Cornwall Council and prominent housing associations.
Richard continues to work hard for the affordable housing sector through leadership forums, government briefings and task groups.
Three words to describe Richard: committed, enthusiastic and inspiring
