Lawrence McNickle joins Rentplus in what is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the business which continues to grow across the country.
With over 30 years’ experience in the housing sector, Lawrence has worked across the estate agency, property construction and development, and social and affordable housing sectors. For the last six years he worked with Auxesia Homes, working with developers to purchase S106 homes.
Steve Collins, Rentplus Chief Executive, welcomed Lawrence to his new role. “Rentplus is growing at a considerable rate across the country. Our award winning affordable rent to buy model came full circle in 2021 with the sale of the first Rentplus homes to tenants who moved in – with no deposit – back in 2016.
“He joins Rentplus at a very exciting time. In 2022, a further tranche of our homes will be sold to the tenants who moved in to their Rentplus home in 2017 and who will this year buy 100% of the home they are living in, helped by a gifted 10% deposit from Rentplus.
“With approaching 25,000 homes in our pipeline across the South of England and Midlands, Rentplus is now making inroads into the North. Lawrence’s appointment will help us extend our reach further into the region, giving local people across the North West of England the chance to own their own home.”
Lawrence will be working closely with Robin Falle, Regional Director for the West of England to bring new schemes to fruition, enabling more of our key workers and other lower and middle income families into homeownership.
Lawrence added: “There’s a strong push to deliver a Levelling Up agenda across the North and Rentplus has an ambitious growth strategy for the region and I am looking forward to delivering this.
“Where new jobs are created, the country has to provide a way for people to be able to afford to live in the area and not to have to move away in order to live close to their work.
“I will be contacting councils, developers and housing associations across the North West over the coming weeks and am keen to ensure they engage with Rentplus to deliver homeownership for those who aspire to own their own home but who cannot save the large sums needed.”
